I want to upgrade my laptops RAM and I'm not sure which one is compatible with mine. I can confirm that my laptop uses DDR4 sodimm but I'm not sure whether I need 2400MHz CL 16 / 2666MHz CL 18 / 3200MHz CL22 and so on. Is any manufacturer compatible with my laptop or do I need to go with one particular manufacturer?

Also, I have 1 8 GB ram with my laptop. If I use another one from the vengeance series will it be compatible or do I need both from the same manufacturer?

And if I already have one 8GB ram in a slot can I add 16GB ram in another slot or does it only have to be 8GB?

Hi:

You can add a 16 GB memory chip in the second slot and have 24 GB.

This should be a compatible 16 GB memory chip for your notebook:

Crucial 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA266 | Crucial UK

Hi,
Thank you for getting back so quickly. I also want to know what is maximum memory I can have in 1 slot for my laptop. 16 GB in one slot would that work?

You're very welcome.

Chapter 1 of the service manual has the memory upgrade info

Each memory slot can support a 16 GB memory chip for a total of 32 GB.
