I have a HP G6 245 notebook. Its battery is dead (capacity down from 40k mWh to 5k). A replacement on the HP website is out of stock.
Browsed online retailers and all mention battery in the range of 1-2k. I don't have faith in buying from them. So I visited HP World physical store today who quoted 4.2k for a replacement with 1-year warranty (T&C applied wrt recharge cycles).
My question is: is it worth buying it at that price or are there better alternatives that I don't know about?

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP 245 G6 Notebook PC according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05485597.pdf, requires one of two batteries: an HP 3-cell battery, 31 Whr Li-ion with HP p/n: 919700-850, can be purchased here: https://search.rakuten.co.jp/search/mall/HP+919700-850/, or an HP 4-cell battery, 41 Whr Li-ion with HP p/n: 919701-850 (recommended), which can be purchased here: https://search.rakuten.co.jp/search/mall/HP+919701-850/.
Hope this was helpful.
