I got this laptop in September 2016. I am planning to upgrade my HP OMEN laptop PC. The battery it originally came on is now dead (discharges in 10-20 minutes) and the laptop does not work without a power cable plugged in. Please help me with suggestions for upgrading below parts (brand name, links if possible, compatible products):
1. Battery
2. RAM (Planning to add a 16 GB RAM along with existing 8GB)
3. SSD (Planning to replace existing 128 GB SSD with 512 GB SSD). Will the existing OS and data be ported while replacing the SSD?

Service Manual:
Battery
3 cell prismatic battery - 61.5 Whr (5360 mAh), for use with products with Intel 6th
generation processors or Intel 7th generation processors with AMD Radeon hybrid
graphics
849910-850
Max memory will be a pair of 16 gig modules so you could add a 16 gig to your existing 8. Uses DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM or DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM which will downclock to 2133 speed on the 6th gen system. I would not mix modules so would simply add an 8 gig module
8 GB 2133 MHz 1.2v DDR4 shared 820570-005
16 gb modules also are available from amazon.com.
Specs say your laptop has a 1 TB 7200 rpm drive and you do have a slot for a M.2 SSD 2280 form factor:
red circle = M.2 slot
You can use the faster NVME type of M.2 SSD. Any size you can find on the market will work. A 512 would be fine and you can go to a 2 TB if you wish. You can "port" (clone) the existing install to the new SSD but it will not happen automatically you have to make it work. That is another topic and happy to help if you post back.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Thank you for the wonderful answer.
For the SSD, will this be compatible?
