Hi,

I have been looking to upgrade the RAM for my newly purchased notebook. I need to know the maximum supported memory by my system.

Also, I need to know, currently my notebook has 8 GB in slot1, can I add 16GB or any other mismatching size in slot2 (with same frequency 2666 MHz)

Thanks

Hi,

I believe you have provided the wrong model number as I can not find the 15-cs8082tx

Maybe it is the 15-cs2082tx

which will support 32GB of RAM. Yes you can insert a 16GB module in the empty slot for a total of 24GB. I believe the RAM runs at 2400MHz, so you can purchase a 16GB DDR4 2400MHz module.

Example:

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-15-cs2082tx#MEMORYFilters

On page 56 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks for the help,

From CPU-Z it seems the memory is 2666 Mhz. Though I also read in the product specification, that the memory is supposed to be 2400 MHz.

Possibly I will need  the same frequency memory.

Thanks,

Hi Sushant

You can buy 2666MHz RAM and it will work well. It might run at 2400MHz but at least it will be the same as the memory already installed.

David
