While inserting a replacement battery [UPSIDE-DOWN - yes I'm a noob! but thanks HP for the (non)stupid-proof design], I shorted two components on this Haymitch 17888-1 Motherboard for HP Envy 17-BW Laptop With Core i7-8550U. I've attached two images of the 2 components that are burned out.
I found a picture of the first component on the Internet, but I cannot identify it with certainty. It's most likely an ESD protection diode in SOT-23 package - marked with "551 EX". The closest match is item PESD5V0U1UA,115 (DigiKey Part Number 1727-4155-1-ND).
The 2nd component on the back of the mobo is: C96cH, which I've identified as AZC099-04S (DigiKey Part Number 4430-AZC099-04S-ND) - a low capacitance ESD protection array in a SOT23-6L package. Sadly I have to pay $25 S&H since it ships from China.
Can someone more qualified confirm these components so I can order them and save a 7 y.o. laptop?

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Kudos for trying to fix your HP p/n: L20712-601 motherboard!
I am not sure if anyone in this Community will/can respond to the specifics of your request, but I can at least suggest two back-up plans:
Option #1.) Buy a "for-parts" only L20712-601 motherboard and remove the two electronic components you need for use on your motherboard, such as this $45 eBay purchase option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/297142861509?_skw=L20712-601&epid=22022380968&itmmeta=01JQAN9745855EQ8QNCAJ.... You'll risk, of course, that the components you need on this for-parts only motherboard could also be defective.
Option #2.) Buy a working motherboard, but these are admittedly expensive, such as this eBay purchase option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335856895333?_skw=L20712-601&epid=22022380968&itmmeta=01JQAN97455TXJQW0SFP2....
