I don't think it will help you to to troubleshoot the motherboard to determine why laptop no longer powers on.

Did you do anything fancy with your machine ?

Regards.

Hello, and thank you tremendously for the reply and the link.  Here's the background on the laptop.  It's my daughter's, and she accidentally knocked it off of the arm of her chair.  In doing so, she shattered the LCD.  When I finally got to take a look at it (she resides 2 hours distance from me), it powered on fine.  I ordered her a new LCD and had it shipped to her mom's address.  Her mom's fiance disassembled the laptop and attempted to remove the old LCD.  He didn't do it properly and was unable to install the replacement.  He left it partially disassembled until I could get my hands on it, at which point I discovered he had destroyed the FHD LCD cable, and the laptop no longer would power on.  I've tested the power supply and the voltage across the solder points of the motherboard jack, and both are fine.  I have no idea how his partial disassembly of the laptop could cause it to no longer power on.  Any idea what the problem could be?
