Hi @Divakar4

Thank you for your response.

The HP Laptop - 15-di0002tu supports an M.2 NVMe SSD, which is the recommended type for better performance. While it also has a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay, the M.2 NVMe slot is the modern, faster upgrade option.

I hope this helps.

Hi @deep_world,

Thanks for the response.

Could you please tell me, whether following ssd types are supportive or not for my laptop model(HP-di0002tu).
Also tell me is it fine to buy heatsink ssd, or not ?

SSD :
Crucial P510 1TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2280 M.2 SSD with heatsink

Crucial P310 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe 2280 M.2 SSD with heatsink

You can suggest me if you know good options to buy ssd's online.

Also, I'm thinking about ssd upgrade because, I've 1TB of HDD to this laptop still my laptop is very slow, no drive is even filled more than 20/30%. C drive is also not filled much. Don't understand my speed is very slow.

If you've some answer for this please guide me on this as well.
Thanks once again !

Hi @Divakar4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for your response.

Both SSDs you listed are PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 NVMe drives, and unfortunately your HP-di0002tu does not support Gen4 or Gen5 NVMe SSDs.
This model only supports:

  • M.2 SATA SSD
    or
  • M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen3 SSD (2280 size)

A few questions to help diagnose the slow performance issue :

  1. How long does the laptop take to start up (roughly)?
  2. Does it freeze or lag when opening apps or just during startup?
  3. How much RAM does your laptop have?(if any upgrades if you have done)
  4. Is the HDD making any clicking or buzzing noises?
  5. Have you checked Task Manager to see if the disk usage stays at 100%?

These details can help identify if the HDD is failing or just slow.

Some quick troubleshooting steps (before upgrading):

1. Disable unnecessary startup apps

A lot of slow laptops simply have too many startup programs.

2. Run a malware scan

Sometimes background malware causes heavy disk usage.

3. Check Windows Updates

Pending updates can cause slowdowns.

4.Uninstall Apps: Go to Settings > Apps and remove programs you don't use

I hope this helps

I was referring following site to buy ssd, HP HP 15-di0002tu | SSD & RAM Upgrades | Crucial IN

Answers to your questions :

  1. How long does the laptop take to start up (roughly)? :-  min. 15min to complete start
  2. Does it freeze or lag when opening apps or just during startup? :-  yes, even normally opening any browser
  3. How much RAM does your laptop have?(if any upgrades if you have done) : 4gb default, but I raised it to 8
  4. Is the HDD making any clicking or buzzing noises? :- I don't think so, but very rarely i used to hear some glitch sound, no idea of what it is.
  5. Have you checked Task Manager to see if the disk usage stays at 100%? :- Yes, almost near to 100% always, even I've just simply opened 1 browser. disk are almost empty, 0 heavy use. still dont know why its lagging to much
