Example: Pavilion DV6000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Somebody please help me!!!  My brother-in-law donated an HP Pavilion DV6000 to me to use to work/telework at my elementary school during this shut-down since the school doesn't provide me one since I'm a teacher assistant.  It had Windows 7 installed originally but my webcam would not come on and from all my researching, it appears the driver for this device is missing on the laptop.  So I asked a computer tech friend of mine to clean up the disk space and install Google Chrome for my Suite and Zoom for my meetings.  Not sure what he did, but the next day I had a restart that took the laptop back to the last back up, so I had to start over.  Webcam still didn't work.  Reinstalled Google Chrome and Zoom-still no camera though, so I asked our computer tech at school for help.  He told me to install Windows 10 and that should take care of it.  It didn't-no webcam working, no driver located.  I have YouCam9, but the physical camera isn't coming on.  I now also have a problem with a low disk space on the recovery disk notification and not sure if I should run a clean up until I get some help.  I also have to run a diagnostics quite often for the internet to connect as it says my network adapter needs to be fixed.  Not sure if this is related because sometimes it connects automatically like I have it set up.

So I asked a third computer tech friend that says the second guy was a moron and should never told me to update to Windows 10.  It wouldn't work, laptop too old, don't do it.  TOO LATE-I already did!!!  Of course, the laptop is out of warranty and I can't get a telephone number so I can talk to a human to walk me through this.  The other three guys get paid to work on computers, so maybe it's me!!!

I did find a webcam driver for Windows10 on the HP website to install and gave that a try.  The installation couldn't finish because, well, I have low disk space on the recovery disk.  Apparently this thing is putting everything on that recovery disk and I'm not sure how to tell it save some stuff and not others.

I'm only semi-tech savvy.  Thankful I worked at UNC Computer Science way back in the 80s and gained enough knowledge to walk myself through most of this but I really need some help.  I need to Zoom with my kids!!

Do I start over and reinstall Windows 7?  I may have the original disks, just need to dig them out (wherever they may be!!) and start all over again.  It's a really nice laptop with a lot  of life left in it and I need it so I can WORK.

Thanks for your patience reading all this and any help I can get I truly appreciate.
