Briefly my estranged husband stole my 2 piece power cord to my HP 17” model #: G72-257CL (Serial #:[personal info removed]). I need to find what power cord is the correct one (several for sale on Amazon) but it states there is not one power cord that fits all HP laptops. Can anyone help direct me on how to find the exact power cord I need to purchase?

HP offered 3 power adapter part numbers, which seem to have the same specs.
What I recommend you do is to is to go on eBay, do a search by any one of those HP part numbers and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter.
Those normally will come with the power cord that goes from the wall socket to the power adapter.
