HP Pavilion Lapatop 15-cs1xxx Product number 5FP53PA#ACJ
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,
I want to upgrade my laptop hard drive to an SSD. The details about my laptop are (as shown in HP Assistant) -
Laptop Name: HP Pavilion Lapatop 15-cs1xxx
Product number: 5FP53PA#ACJ.

I want to request not only the list of compatible 1TB SSDs but also would want to understand what is the basis to check the compatibility. Like is there any interface number/code like SATA M.2 etc? I'm not sure and I'm kind of a newbie to hardware terminologies.

 I asked a similar question, more than 20 persons read it and nobody answered. I was thinking this kind of forum could help but seems that's not the solution so far.

@PASaboo Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to upgrade SSD.

I have checked the manual (page number 2, 3).

Your product support Dual storage Configuration (select products only)

256 GB, PCIe, value, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm, 7.2 mm hard drive

256 GB, SATA, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm, 7.2 mm hard drive

128 GB, SATA, TLC, solid-state drive + 2 TB, 5400 rpm, 7.2 mm hard drive

128 GB, SATA, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm, 7.2 mm hard drive

128 GB, SATA, TLC, solid-state drive + 500 GB, 5400 rpm, 7.0 mm hard drive

You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

And order it via the HP Parts store: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ

Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support

Hello again.

I only need to know what kind and size has the 2nd slot for a storage upgrade with an extra SSD disk.

The slim one or maybe I could add a common SSD which has a bigger width and use a bracket. Thank you.

@FlorinSafnerVE

I understand your concerns.

(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)

Your product support only one SSD and one hard drive.

For more information, you can contact our phone support.

Have a nice day!!

Hi Praveen.

I added a storage SSD 240 Gb SanDisk and is not visible. System is showing it like an "Unknown USB device, request error of the device descriptor.."

No way to make it visible after updating all the drivers, checking bios etc.

You previously said that this model support only 1 SSD disk and a HD, means mechanical. Do you mean that it's no way to make functional a second SSD disk in this notebook 15 Dy-1***? I saw some videos in Youtube where some persons did it.

Could you help please?

Regards

Florin
