Pavillion dv6700

I have an old broken computer that I would like to get the pictures off. I did some research and found that a USB to SATA Portable adapter will work on all SATA HDD and SSD but my hard-drive says its a Serial ATA hard drive. Is there an older adaptor available? I googled ATA adaptor but didn't find anything. Appreciate any info I can get.

Serial ATA = SATA...same thing. It is a SATA drive and you can use one of these on it:

The hard drive likely has an adapter bar over the SATA connections so don't be put off. You need to remove the HP proprietary piece and expose the standard SATA connections on the hard drive.
