Need to know Ram up gradation maximum capacity of hp pavilion 15cc140tx. Is it 32gb or 16gb? Another is, I have DDR4 2400MHz 8gb (1X8) Ram. Can I add 16gb DDR4 2666MHz RAM?

Hi:
The service manual indicates that 2 x 8 GB is the max.
The crucial memory site for your notebook indicates that 2 x 16 GB is the max.
Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | pavilion 15 series | Pavilion 15-cc140tx | Crucial IN
I believe that since your notebook has an Intel 8th gen core processor, that it should be able to run 2 x 16 GB of memory.
You can confirm how much memory your notebook can actually take as follows...
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacity and hit enter. There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
You can install a DDR4-2666 memory chip, but it is only going to run at 2400 MHz, which is the maximum speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

You're very welcome.
Yes, I agree with you.
Many of the HP service manuals for the different models don't report the maximum amount of memory that can actually be installed.
They must only test certain memory configurations for some reason.
