Was replacing my hard drive and the ribbon cable connection came apart.and need to get a replacement and been looking online but can't seem to find a comparable item .just wondered can I use any connector for any HP laptop.

Chapter 3, page 29 of the maintenance and service guide on your notebook's user guides support page has the part number you need:

 

NB_MSG_Parfait_1_4_Win10_855133-004 (hp.com)

 

Hard drive back connector and hard drive cable   HP part # 857462-001

 

The only listing I can find is this one:  Pretty expensive.

 

857462-001 for sale | eBay

 

HP doesn't sell the cable, so perhaps you can check one of these authorized HP resellers:
