I want to upgrade the RAM to 16GB. Existing RAM is of 8GB. Can I let the existing one stay and add a new 16GB one so the total is 24GB? Please recommend the model of the RAM to be purchased.
Same question for existing SSD of 512GB. Please recommend the model of SSD to be purchased.

Below is the link to the service manual.
Chapter 1 indicates that the maximum memory is 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory.
The model series has support for two M.2 NVMe SSD's according to chapter 1 of the service manual.
For that, you have two options: Remove the existing 512 GB SSD and install one having a greater storage capacity, or add another SSD in the empty slot.
The Crucial memory report for your notebook is at the link below and they sell compatible memory and SSDs.
HP HP OMEN 15-en0002ax | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial IN
Crucial indicates the notebook can support up to 2 x 32 GB of memory.
Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0. While a Gen 4.0 SSD will work, it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.
This table shows the maximum transfer speeds each PCIe slot generation can provide:

You can run this command to see how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
