Well, the good news is it can be upgraded to 8 gigs of memory.

Service Manual

See p. 51 of the Manual.

Memory modules needed:

4-GB (PC3, 12800, 1600-MHz) 641369-001

2 of these:

https://www.amazon.com/HP-641369-001-1600Mhz-PC3-12800-memory/dp/B008L325TW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1...

As for the processor, the motherboard on your model is only compatible with Celeron and Pentium CPUs so your top upgrade would be a 2030M.

This would take you from 2.2 ghz to 2.5 ghz...but the 2030M is hard to find. This is a 2020M @2.4 ghz which is your next best thing and cheap:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Pentium-2020M-Dual-Core-SR0U1-2-40-GHz-FCPGA988-Ivy-Bridge-Processor-/...

The only other viable upgrade is to install a solid state drive in place of the hard drive. You can install any 2.5 inch wide and 7 mm thick SATA SSD.

You can get a smaller older generation SSD for like $60:

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-120GB-2-5-Inch-SDSSDA-120G-G25-Version/dp/B00S9Q9UKS/ref=sr_1_9?s=pc&...

All of the above would cost maybe $125-150 which is in my estimation a bit much to invest in that laptop and better put toward a new one but it is your decision to make.
