I am hoping to find a PDF or downloadable service manual for my Envy. I am wanting to upgrade the RAM and M.2 device. I am pretty certain the RAM speed is locked to 2666, but I would like to go from the factory 8GB to at least 16GB, but wondering if up to 64GB (2x32GB) would be possible on this machine. I plan to upgrade the M.2 to one I already have a Samsung EVO 970 1TB. I have been building desktops for years, but do not want to tear into this nice laptop blind. I would like to know the motherboard layout, and if there are any special procedures that should be followed when opening this machine. Thanks to anyone that can help.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c06447669
You can use manuals for the series
https://support.hp.com/sk-en/product/hp-envy-15m-dr1000-x360-convertible-pc-series/29126493/manuals
It has 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) of RAM and 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD for Storage
1. RAM: You can upgrade to
(a) 16GB: add same existing RAM to slot 2
(b) 32GB: install 16GB each to both slots using the following compatible RAM
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd8266/ct14838167
(c) 64GB max: Your machine has Intel Gen 10 processor therefore you can install 2 x 32GB . I can't find compatible RAM for your machine.
It is a notebooks/laptops and HP won't publish its System Board board layout, only part number which contains
(a) CPU/Processor,
(b) Video card (if available),
(c) Windows license
All above components are on one piece of hardware.
Regards.
