Hi @QDCC,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it can be when your laptop suddenly loses internet access, especially when you're trying to work or troubleshoot other devices. Let's walk through this together.

Step-by-Step Fix

1. Show Hidden Devices in Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X → choose Device Manager
  • Click View → select Show hidden devices
  • Expand Network adapters
  • Look for MediaTek MT7921 Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter

If it appears grayed out:

  • Right-click → choose Uninstall device
  • Restart your laptop

Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

2. Reinstall or Update the Driver

If the adapter doesn’t reappear:

  • Go to Official HP® Support
  • Enter your laptop model
  • Download the latest Wi-Fi driver for Windows 11 (look for MediaTek MT7921)

Or use HP Support Assistant to auto-detect and install missing drivers.

3. Check BIOS Settings

Sometimes the Wi-Fi adapter is disabled in BIOS:

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS
  • Look for Wireless LAN or Network Adapter settings
  • Ensure it's enabled

4. Run Network Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status
  • Click Network Troubleshooter
  • Follow the prompts to detect and fix issues

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
