My Laptop is barely 5 years old. After only 18 months the battery suddenly weakened significantly, so I have to keep it permanently plugged in.
There has always been a BIOS-update problem - particularly as it comes unannounced. After the last Win 11 update the BIOS-update (not listed in the Win11 update schedule) decided to interrupt the Windows restart. Since then, every restart is preceded by- a BIOS-rewrite/verify, and if I'm lucky the Windows welcome page appears. The HP Support Assistant (ha! ha! ha!) indicates that the BIOS is up to date.
Apparently I'm not he only on with this problem. Why doesn't a reputable (?) computer producer do something about this.
I'm extremely disappointed with HP. Medion/Aldi Notebooks are far better value for money.

"After the last Win 11 update the BIOS-update (not listed in the Win11 update schedule) decided to interrupt the Windows restart"
BIOS updates require the user to click on yes, install at least two times. It does not come unannounced.
You selected install in the HP Support Assistant.
Laptop batteries, regardless of manufacturer, only provide a warranty for the main lithium battery for 12 months.
I recommend replacing the original battery with a new genuine HP battery.
"My Laptop is barely 5 years old"
Five years is the corporate standard for when laptops are replaced. Corporations do that for a reason.
If you choose to go beyond that with your personal laptop, it is your own choice.

Even if you press yes it keeps repeating the cycle. One yes should be enough until the next BIOS update - not every time I start the PC.
"If you choose to go beyond that with your personal laptop, it is your own choice." Unacceptable cynical reply. I've had PCs from other producers and they ran for over 8 years until the Windows version made them obsolete. I'll stick to Aldi/Medion, at least their prices are reasonable.
