The 9-cells stick out of the bottom of the laptop, which can be good if you want to raise the rear. Here is the 6-cell from amazon which is the highest price but also has the best customer reviews:

You can search for any of the above part numbers. HP long ago stopped making and selling this battery so any genuine ones you find might be old stock.

Dear Huffer,

I ordered a Green cell battery and I ran into the same issue. I made a diagnostic with HP hardware system and the test showed a battery failure error.

I guess the laptop is too old and the motherboard has aged.
