HP 17t Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased 17t laptop from HP in 05-2017 & have never used it. Plugged in via AC adapter overnight.  Look today & battery Is 0% says "plugged in, not charging"

-it's not the outlet & it's not one of the batteries that has been recalled (per the HP Battery Diagnostic Utility)

-tried turning off/taking battery out/putting back in/ powering back on=still 0%

-the test of the AC Adapter "Passed"

-I can't run the the  Battery Test - "the battery charge check was unable to test the primary battery because the battery is deeply discharged"

-the Battery details are: Charge Capacity 95%, Cycle Count 3, Battery Age 0 Days, serial number  [edit], capacity 2850 mAh, remaining capacity 0%, current capacity 0 %, battery status OK (4), FAILURE ID:OK, terminal voltage 3677mV, design voltage 10950 mV, cell voltage 1:1236mV, cell 2: 1095mV, cell 3: 1346mV, cell 4: 0mV, AC Power: YES

Is there anything that can be done?

Welcome to HP Support Community

Since the Battery is at 0% we will not be able to update the BIOS

Let's reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter
Step 09. Look for "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon

Keep me posted 😊
