The pen that came with my new Envy works as a mouse but does not seem to do sensitivity in Krita. The HP salesman knew I wanted it for drawing among pther things.  Is there a software fix pls or do I have to buy another pen?  Have I been misled?

Hi @Andrewkink,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the issue with the HP Envy pen not having pressure sensitivity in Krita might be related to driver or software settings.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure all your drivers are up to date, especially the graphics and pen drivers. You can use HP Support Assistant or manually check the HP website for the latest drivers.

Pen Calibration:

  • Calibrate your pen in the Windows settings. Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink and calibrate your pen.

Krita Settings:

  • Ensure Krita is configured to use the pen’s pressure sensitivity. Open Krita, go to Settings > Configure Krita > Tablet settings, and make sure the appropriate tablet API (e.g., Wintab or Windows 8+ Pointer Input) is selected.

Check Krita Input Devices:

  • In Krita, go to Settings > Configure Krita > Tablet settings > Tablet Tester. Use this tool to test if Krita recognizes pressure from your pen.

HP Pen Control Software:

  • Install or update any HP pen control software that might allow you to adjust pen settings. Sometimes, HP provides specific software for customizing pen behavior.

Reinstall Krita:

  • Reinstall Krita to ensure it is properly configured and updated to the latest version.

Windows Ink:

  • Make sure Windows Ink is enabled. Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink and make sure the "Use Windows Ink" option is turned on.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that the pen might not support pressure sensitivity, or there might be a compatibility issue with Krita.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
