Hey,
So, I recently purchased an HP 15-bs150sa laptop and I have been experiencing issues mainly related to it beeping and slowness. The laptop specifications are an i5-8th generation, 4 GB ram, and 1tb HDD.
I would experience the laptop making beeping sounds. Before I upgraded the ram from 4 GB to 8 GB, I would hear 3-4 beeps and freezes from the laptop constantly. But, that has stopped and now of more recently, I am hearing the laptop making a single short beep sound and when this occurs, the laptop also freezes when it is running.
Can anyone explain what this does mean? Should I return the laptop? Is there an issue with the CPU, hardware, hard disk (which I should say runs almost at 100% when any straining activity is undertaken), or memory.
The reason I ask is that I want to upgrade from HDD to SDD and upgrade the TN screen to an IPS, but I do not see the point of investing in the product if there is something wrong with the laptop.
Thank you for reading,
Sunny

@SunnyVanza
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hey again,
I have completed the windows and driver updates, but the slowness and beep sound still persist.
I want to undertake a BIOS update, but I cannot find "bitlocker" because my laptop is running Windows 10 Home and not Windows 10 Pro. So, I am unable to disable it. Therefore, will I incur a problem when I ultimately install the new BIOS update?
Thank you again,
Sunny
