Thank you for your help yet the same problem still stands. I did everything you advised me to then shutdown my HP Spectre only to switch it on to find it already lost nearly 20% of its charge level while it was off in a day or so. Anything else I should to?

@Prof_Blue, thanks for getting back to us — I know how frustrating it must be to shut your laptop down expecting it to rest, only to find it's been quietly draining power in the background.
Since you’ve already gone through the usual suspects like BIOS updates and power settings, let’s dig a little deeper:
Check Modern Standby Behavior: The Spectre x360 uses Modern Standby, which sometimes doesn’t fully "shut down" the way traditional systems do. Try this:
Instead of Shut Down, use Hibernate and monitor battery drain.
Or, run this in Command Prompt (as admin):
powercfg /a
This shows available sleep states. If “S0 Low Power Idle” is enabled, it might be the reason behind the stealthy battery drain.
Turn Off Connected Standby Devices:
Open Device Manager > Network adapters.
Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter > Properties > Power Management.
Uncheck “Allow this device to wake the computer.”
Hope this helps!
