So, i installed a new battery (HP original), and suddenly the fan just ramps up to laptop vibrating levels. About 100 times faster and louder than i´d heard before. The fan is clean, and temperature low (16 celsius).
I see others with the same problem after changing the battery, but haven´t found a proper solution. I´ve done every possible HP assistant/support check, and everything is ok.
It happens every other hour, not a huge nuisance, but when it does, it seems the laptop is going to take off, and vibrates A LOT. It can´t be healthy...
PS: Come on HP, last battery stopped charging past 70% after 300 out of 1000 cycles, now this original gives me another headache... I´ve with you for the last 23 years, only 9 with my wife. Don´t make me have to go back on the market.
Regards.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that your HP notebook battery is not working correctly. Sometimes your notebook needs is a swift re-up on driver updates to be restored back to its original health. Follow these steps to update your Windows 10 laptop’s battery drivers.
- Step 1. Right-click the Start menu to open the Quick Access menu and select Device Manager
- Step 2. Under Batteries, open the drop-down menu and right-click Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
- Step 3. Within the new selection window, press Update Driver
Windows will ask you, “How do you want to search for drivers?” and you’ll have the option to let Windows search automatically or browse your PC manually for the appropriate software.
Once updated, reboot your PC and try charging again. If the issue persists, follow the next steps.
- 1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
- 2. Expand batteries.
- 3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
- 4. Shut down the computer.
- 5. Disconnect the charger.
- 6. Remove the battery. (only for removable battery)
- 7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
- 8. Insert the battery only. (only for removable battery)
- 9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Thanks for the help, but in the meantime, i updated the BIOS, wich was the only thing not up to date. After that, the fan went crazy one more time, and never again.
I guess the new battery and the fan needed time to know each other 😅
If it happens again, i´ll post here.

Thank you for posting back.
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. The last thing I can suggest trying is a restore back to the factory.
While doing the recovery, there is an option to back up your personnel files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.
The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.
