I bought an HP laptop back in August. I've been able to use it for the last two months without any problems. Yesterday I went to do some work on it, and found that the battery isn't holding a charge. No matter what I do, I always get the message "Battery status: 0% remaining" when I hover over the icon.
My machine is currently plugged in with the AC adapter/charger, and I've examined the charger for any kinks or otherwise torn parts. I can't find any. I've installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled drivers for the battery. I've shut it down multiple times, restarted it, and did everything I could reasonably think of to get the battery charging again. As long as I have the charger plugged in, I can still work on it but - of course - this isn't the best or most convenient option.
I'm deeply annoyed. This was a new laptop and the battery didn't even last two months.
