HP ENVY x360 15m-bp1xx
Microsoft Windows XP

Hello,

I need to upgrade my HP x360 15m-bp1xx with a new SSD with the same capacity that I already have (HGST HTS721010A9E630 - 931.51 GB).

It is possible to use any model from Amazon with the following caracteristics?:

  • 1TB,
  • SATA III,
  • 2.5"
  • Internal SSD
  • (Samsung, Sandisk, Crucial)

Is there any other features to be considered?

Thank you so much for your advices.

Best Regards,

Couldn't find any info on your system spec, but if the haddrive is the only storage on your envy, then you probably could buy an M.2 SSD instead of replacing the harddrive.

M.2 SSD is much faster and you dont have to abandone your haddrive for storage.

There is a M.2 port next to the ram slots as I googled online.

If you already have a M.2 SSD, then you can just buy any SATA SSD.

Hi,

Yes, you can upgrade the internal drive to any one of those SSDs. What you need is a 2.5" SATA3 SSD of your desired capacity.

On page 33 of the service manual, you can see the steps to replace the drive

You could also take a look if the M2 slot is present on the motherboard. The service manual does mention it, however, sometimes notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD are missing physical slot. On page 30 of the service manual, you can see the steps to remove the bottom cover to take a look.

If the M2 slot is present you could install an M2 PCIe NVMe drive of your desired capacity which would be faster than a SATA3 SSD.

Hope it helps,

David
