My Windows 10 laptop HDD crashed. Installed new SSD. Runs great. Except the fan runs much more often than it did with my HDD. And faster and louder. Device manager shows an unknown device with the hardware ID- ACPI\INT3400\2&DABA3FF&0. Telling me there are no compatible drivers for this device. I know it is some kind of "Thermal Framework driver", so I worry about overheating... A thousand links online but none seem to help me with my problem. Should I worry? Keep seeking the proper drivers for this device? I am but a novice when delving into the hardware and software details.

Hi:
Yes, it is possible that missing device is causing the fan to run a lot.
This would be the driver you need for the notebooks with the Kaby Lake processors...
Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Client Driver - Kaby Lake
8.5.10103.7263
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96501-97000/sp96724.exe
If the above driver doesn't install the device, see if the Chipset driver will because that device usually shows up twice in the device manager if it needs a driver and one instance of the device is installed by the Intel chipset driver, and the other instance is installed by the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Client Driver.
10.1.18243.8188

You may also want to see if this app is supported for your notebook...it helps with thermal control.
