Hi there,
I recently had to replace my original battery on my HP Omen model 17-an0xx but my new original replacement battery is just acting weird.
When I plugin my charger, the LED light turns orange but after a few seconds turns white as if the battery is fully charged (the Windows toolbar battery icon acts the same way, shows it's plugged in but then turns back to normal as if there is no charger). Also, a couple of times the "No battery connected" icon showed up.
So then I keep uninstalling and installing drivers for the battery until it starts working properly. Then it works fine for one or two separate charges but the problem keeps recurring.
I tried pretty much everything, from uninstalling and installing the drivers to checking the charger port for malfunctions.
P.S. One other weird thing, my laptop does not work when just plugged into the charger. I don't know if this some security feature but in the past I've always been able to power up and use my laptops without the battery in it.
Would appreciate some help if anybody had the same experience.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help
Please reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and check if that helps
Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter ( For Notebooks with Removable Batteries )
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter and restart
Next update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
If the issue persists run a Battery Test again to confirm the Hardware Functionality
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

thanks for all the advice, dear sir.
Unfortunately none of this helped.
I ended up buying a completely new battery (original HP) and the problem persisted. With the new battery I was able to power up the laptop but every single time i needed to charge the battery I got a headache because I had to plug in and out the adapter a couple of times (sometimes more than 20 time, sometimes more, sometimes less) before it actually started charging the battery.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers and everything I could and now but it didn't help to make the charging process as it once was.
Yesterday, after the battery was at 20% I went to do my little "charging dance" but this time after a hundred attempts it wouldn't start charging (the charging LED would turn orange and then immediately white as if it was fully charged). I opened up the laptop and disconnected the battery and plugged it in and now it won't even acknowledge the charger, no LED signal and the laptop wont turn on at all. The only thing that is happening is that the power button LED is blinking and nothing else.
I'm going insane because the laptop was working like a charm until the original battery died. Since then it's been hell with this laptop.
I will be taking the laptop to an official HP service and hopefully they can decipher what is going on.

Unfortunately at this point I suggest you contact HP Support in your Region for Service Options
1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
