Spectre x360 13-ae052nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new (less than 30 days old) Spectre x360 - 13 that will not power up at all. I know for sure that it is not the power charger because I have three that I have tried (the one supplied, the one from my other X360 -13 that will not charge and a third that I purchased to determine if the my first X360 had a charger issue.)

I'm not getting a power light or anything and I've tried holding down the power button for a reset etc. I will not try pulling the battery because I broke a clip trying that on my first X360 so I have no interest in further damaging a new laptop. I appreciate any help in advance, thanks.

Sorry to hear of problems with your new Spectre.Having tried a power reset without results there is really nothing left to suggest other than possibly taking it into a store that sells Spectres to let them try yet another charger. Do not let anyone open the case unless they are an HP authorized Service Center as it may void the warranty.

I would contact HP for warranty service using the link here:

As a followup to my previous post: HP did fix my newest x360 which I'm using currently. And, shortly after my repair I was contacted by HP to ask how the repair went and I had the opportunity to vent about my x360 that was just out of warranty that was sitting on the shelf collecting dust. They offered to repair for a discounted price since I was out of warranty but when I explained that I wasn't going to pay a penny to repair the laptop because I didn't have confidence that it would work very long HP waved the charge and are currently working on it. I have a great intern student Amanda following the case and she is giving frequent updates. Hopefully HP is doing a detailed analysis to determine the root cause of the failures so they can recall or quickly repair the other x360s that are affected.

Great news to hear HP got your new Spectre straightened out. Equally so to hear they are repairing the older Spectre.😊
