Pavilion dv6

Hello!  I am very torn... Do I purchase a new laptop or upgrade the laptop that I currently have ? I purchased this pavilion dv6, new, in late 2011/early 2012. It really hasn't been used a whole lot at all. Any ways... I recently purchased a cricut explore air 2 and it does not support the OS of this laptop. Am I better off purchasing a new laptop or trying to upgrade what I have now. The requirements for cricut are;

  • OS: Windows® 8 or later
  • CPU: Intel™ Dual-Core or equivalent AMD® processor
  • RAM: 4GB
  • 2 GB free disk space
  • An available USB port or Bluetooth® connection
  • Display: Minimum 1024px x 768px screen resolution

I appreciate your help. I just don't know what the more financially smartasmart optionnoption would be. If I need a new one, I would appreciate suggestions. I would like to stay as lowly priced as possible.

I would need to know exactly what DV6 you have, but the requirements for cricut program are not very demanding. The issue is just whether you can run Windows 10 on what you have and you very likely can. There are a few older dv6 models with video cards that do not accept Windows 10 very well, but most will run it OK. I assume you have Windows 7 now?
