Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I recently brought a Spectre x360, I love it so far, have been using it for at least 3 weeks. One problem(?) I've seen happening is that everytime I fully charge it to 100% then use it, the battery drops from 100% to 93% within 20ish minutes of usage. Then it slowly discharges normally afterwards. Im wondering if this is normal or I have a defective battery?

(If it is not normal) are there solutions to help fix this problem before resorting to the warranty plan? I would hate to have to wait again to have it delivered to me 😞

Thank you

At this point, the battery is probably OK - new computer and all.

Start with the Calibration mentioned below.

If / When you test the battery, use the UEFI method (even if you first check using the HP Support Assistant).  The UEFI is a better check for fussy Spectre battery.

By the way, you are correct -- at least while the notebook is under warranty, if the battery does need to be replaced, you do have to send it in.  Rats.

Keep an eye on it -- if you have trouble, submit a case and see what can be done.

Battery having trouble?

The battery might be OK and just need calibration (balance / set).

Exactly the same thing happens to my hp envy 13 from 2018 from the day 1.

It seriously seems to be done on purpose , but dont know why. I already calibrated the battery in windows, dont remember if from UEFI as well.

Its not really big deal, since I know that the 100% cant last 25 minutes... its like the part from 100 to 93 is not measured and only measures from 93 up to the bottom (0%)
