HP ENVY 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-cr0000 (538A1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I bought the HP Envy 17.3-inch laptop a month ago. It gets extremely hot underneath on the right side. The number pad keys on the right side are hotter to the touch than the rest of the keyboard. Sometimes, the laptop will not go to sleep when I close the lid, and I find it dangerously hot underneath that right side when I come back later. No heat comes from the bottom of the left side.

I previously owned the same size of Envy for 6 years with no problems with overheating.

Thank you for replying, but this solution does not fix the problem. I had previously downloaded HP Support Assistant, and I am already current on all updates.  The laptop continues to run hot, and I can feel the heat through the right side of the keyboard. What's the next option?
