My 2016 Spectre has failed. All was fine until a few weeks ago. Then, it would turn off suddenly and require a recharge. After doing that two or three times over the course of two or three weeks, the charging light stopped coming on consistently. Twice, I left it plugged in for a few days, and eventually the charging light would pop on. But when I'd use the laptop, it would turn off suddenly again. Now, the machine won't turn on, and the charging light never illuminates.
UBreakIFix said it needed a new motherboard and that they didn't do that kind of repair. They said I should contact HP Support to have it done.
The laptop is not under warranty. How do I go about getting the motherboard replaced?
Thanks for your help.

Did you know you have to buy a new System board which contains
- Mother board
- CPU
- RAM (in you case - because RAM is onboard)
- Windows 10 license
Your machine uses System board part # 907558-601 which is N/A fro HP Parts store

You have to search elsewhere, including eBay.
Its price (new) + labor cost would be very close to the price of a new machine. Please weight/compare 2 options and make decision yourself.
Regards.
