My system currently has 2 x 4gb 2400mhz sticks of ram. I purchased 2 PNY, 8GB, DDR4, 2400mhz, CL17, 1.2V sticks of ram to bring my max memory to 16gb. When I install both sticks, the screen will freeze in boot up. When I have 1 8gb and 1 4gb, it will run for a little while and then shutdown or blue screen me. I know it is seated properly, as the system will pick up the correct amount of installed ram in bios, and I have checked to verify that my model will support 16gb and it will. Every other thread on this says to install exactly what I purchased. Any thoughts, suggestions, or solutions? Thanks.

Definitely that is NOT a compatible RAM. Did you check other vendors before buying RAM ? Please try
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k8g4sfs824a/ct13412225
Please notice: Unbuffered • NON-ECC. Crucial guarantees compatible when you order from Crucial.com
Regards.

@Banhien
Thank you for the prompt response on the issue that I am having and I am inclined to agree that the ram is not compatible with my computer, but I don't see a difference in what I purchased and the link that you send me for the Crucial products. Here is a link to the ram that I purchased from best buy:
The purchased ram is also unbuffered and non-ecc, so I am not sure where the difference is. Also, I was originally looking to increase the Mhz of the ram but when I purchased the Best Buy ram, but the 2400mhz was all they had available. If I return the purchased ram and order from Crucial, can I go with the 3200mhz in the link below?

As I stated before, I am certainly fine with returning what I purchased and ordering this ram from Crucial, but I would like to know that the PNY ram that I purchased truly isn't compatible and there isn't some other underlying issue, prior to going through the trouble of returning one and ordering the other.
Thanks!
