Presario CQ57
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

yesterday I've bought SSD Kingston A400 for friend's notebook Compaq Presario CQ57 with amd cpu. I've removed hdd, installed SSD and then installed windows 10 64bit. But I'm not satisfied with results, I don't see any improvement in speed.  Also, I need to say that there is no AHCI mode in bios.

On this link you can see speed results which are not so good.

Can someone help me, give me some advice about this problem.

Hi:

If the notebook has an AMD processor and chipset, the drive is running in AHCI mode but the 3rd party software thinks otherwise.

The performance my not be as expected as the drive controller is only SATA II, so it is only going to work 2/3 as fast as it can.

If the notebook has an AMD processor and chipset, the only suggestion I can offer would be to update the AMD chipset drivers (which include the AHCI driver), and see if that helps any.  Select the W10 driver from the list, install and restart the PC.
