I am going crazy trying to figure out how to insert on my new laptop which does NOT have a numeric keypad.  I must be able to use the insert function for critical work software I use on a daily basis.  I had a previous version of this computer but it had the numeric keypad on the side.  Thanks for any intel!

Sorry, but the most practical solution to this is to connect an external USB keyboard that has the full set of keys.

 

There is a freeware key mapping utility that might be able to allow you to map a set of keys to the INSERT function, but that is a lot of work and you would have to press three or more keys at the same time just to do an insert.
