Hi @Adam0078,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better assist the concern, could you please provide a few more details:

1. Are you using the keyboard on Windows or another operating system?
2. Is the keyboard type wired or wireless?
3. Have you tried connecting it to another computer to see if the number pad works there?
4. Are there any other unusual behaviours with the keyboard besides the number pad?

In the meantime, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Check for alternate Num Lock functionality
    • Use a Fn + key combination to toggle the number pad if a dedicated Num Lock key is missing. Check the manual for any such combination.
  • Test on another device
    • This helps determine if it’s a hardware issue or something specific to your computer.
  • Update or reinstall keyboard drivers
    • On Windows: Device Manager → Keyboards → right-click → Update driver.
  • Check accessibility settings
    • On Windows: Settings → Ease of Access → Keyboard → Make sure “Mouse Keys” is turned off, as this can disable the number pad.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!

Hi

Thanks so much for your help and sorry for the late reply.

It appears to be working every now and then and not consistent. It's a real inconvenience as its not reliable.

Thanks once again really appreciate it
