HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ew0000 (549V4AV)

I have returned from a lengthy holiday and no longer have sound on my laptop.  Audio diagnostic is: "No audio devices found."  All updates have been completed.   HP does not have a driver for my OS which is Windows 11 Version 23H2.  Appreciate some advice.

I suggest invoking the Device Manager to see if there is a Realtek audio device present there.

Hold down the Windows key and tap the X key once. In the list that appears, click on Device Manager.

I suggest trying a few things.

The first thing to try is installing the Realtek High definition audio driver that Windows provides for Windows 11 for your laptop.

The second is going the the Windows Update Catalog and trying a driver from there.

From what I see there, your best option is the HP driver.

Just so you know, you are not alone, the latest Windows 11 killed the Realtek HD audio for many  Windows 11 users.

Hi Erico

Thank you for your advice.

I checked Device Manager and Realtek audio device present.

I wasn't successful in installing the Realtek High definition audio driver with the link you provided.

Are you able to be more specific about which HP Driver I should select from the Windows Update Catalogue please?  I am only moderately tech savvy.  Doing my best to sort this issue out.  It's very frustrating.

Thanks for your advice, very much appreciated.

You can try any or all of them.

One nice feature that  hardware drivers have is if they are not compatible, they simply do not work and will not install or damage anything.

When you try to install an incorrect driver, the driver program will advise you that it is not compatible and will not install.
