Envy x360 m6-aq103dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The camera has not been operating on my Envy x360 for some time. At that time, the camera driver was not working in Device Manager, but the Camera was among the listed adapters. After trying all other solutions, the last was to do an operating system restore of Windows 10. I did this.

Now, no camera even shows up among the adapters. So, the camera continues not to work.

I can't load the right drivers if Device Manager does not even recognize there is a camera. And yes, there is a camera in this machine.

Please help.

I understand that the no camera adapter showing up in Device Manager after Windows 10 reinstall.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

These solutions did not work.

Device Manager provides no indication that the OS recognizes a camera. The camera adapter is not located anywhere in Device Manager.

So, any takers on why this still is not working?

@TomL08

I understand your concerns.

Please perform the camera test and let us know.

1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose the Camera  and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.

If do not see the camera option, please install the latest UEFI and perform the test.

I downloaded the latest UEFI as instructed and ran the component check.

The camera was not listed among the components.

So, this solution did not work. The computer still does not recognize that it has a camera (and it does have a camera).

@TomL08

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
