HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c3000 (767L5AV)

This Laptop was left running and not shut down; can't remember if it was plugged in or operating on battery alone.  Upon return, laptop was dead.  The laptop battery is dead at present.  When I plug in the power adapter, the indicator light at the laptop does not light.  Adapter itself shows 19.5V with multimeter.  Have removed battery & done hard reset.  Without battery, no indicator light when plugged in.  With battery, no indicator light when plugged in.  Internal mechanics, where power adapter plugs in, appear intact; wiggling the plug does not produce ANY result.  Using an alternate 19.5V HP power adapter produces the same results - no indicator light.

   Any suggestions?

@Willie_97, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
You've done a solid job with the basic troubleshooting already. Based on your description, the issue appears to be on the motherboard side, specifically in the power delivery or charging circuit.

Here are a few more suggestions that might help:

Check the Power Adapter: Even though your multimeter shows 19.5V, the adapter might still be faulty. Try using a different power adapter that you know works with another device.

Inspect the Power Jack: The internal mechanics might appear intact, but there could be an issue with the power jack itself. Sometimes, the soldering can come loose, causing a poor connection. If you're comfortable, you can open the laptop and inspect the power jack for any signs of damage or loose connections.

Reset the BIOS: Sometimes, resetting the BIOS can help resolve power issues. To do this, remove the battery and power adapter, then press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the power adapter (without the battery) and try turning on the laptop.

Check for Internal Damage: If none of the above steps work, there might be an internal issue with the motherboard or other components.

If the issue persists, then we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
