Microsoft Windows 11

My zbook Fury G8 mobile has no drives (SSD or otherwise) installed. How can that be?   What is my C: drive using for storage?

You're very welcome.

There's an NVMe SSD somewhere.

If you go to the device manager, click to expand the disk drives device manager category it will have the model of the drive that is installed.

Google it and you will get the description and manufacturer of the drive.

Chapter 5, page 45 of the service manual indicates that there are two drive positions under the battery.

It's probably using a M.2 NVMe SSD which is about the size and shape of a stick of chewing gum.

If you look at chapter 5, pages 62 & 63 of the service manual, that shows where the drive is located.

Thanks for the reply, but I have the keyboard out and can see that SSD1, SSD2, and SSD3 are empty.  There is no 2 1/2" drive underneath, either.

Once again, thank you for the reply.  I'll have to put the thing back together to fire it up and check the system settings but I'm pretty sure it said there was a 1TB ROM.  See the attached photos.  All empty SSD slots.  Only two DIMMs populated, too.IMG_1996.jpgIMG_1997.jpg

Turns out my mistake.  SSD1 was populated but I did not realize it had stuck to the bottom of the metal cover which I placed off to the side on my desk.  Finally noticed it.

Thanks, everyone.
