trying to replace my drive but when I opened the laptop, I didn't find a hard drive,  does the HP hp 14-fq0048 have on board hard drive

Not a hard drive. It uses an M.2 SSD sometimes called a gumstick.

If your notebook is an 14-fq0048nr, it has a 64 GB eMMC flash storage drive.

 

It does have support to add a M.2 SATA SSD but not a NVMe SSD.

 

You can only use the M.2 SATA SSD for extra storage.

 

The notebook will not boot from the M.2 SATA SSD.

 

You need a drive like this if you want to add extra storage:

o you have any suggest as to the casing that I would have to procure to ad a Sata drive also?

There isn't any. 

 

Your only option would be to install a M 2 SATA SSD.
