Hi @Zie10,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
On some HP Envy X360 laptops, the Insert function might not have a dedicated key or a direct key combination, but you can still achieve the Insert functionality using other methods. Here are a few ways to enable the Insert key function.
Using the On-Screen Keyboard
- Open the On-Screen Keyboard:
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type osk and press Enter. This will open the On-Screen Keyboard.
- Find the Insert Key:
- Locate the Ins (Insert) key on the On-Screen Keyboard and click it whenever you need to use the Insert function.
Remapping a Key
You can remap one of your existing keys to act as the Insert key using a third-party utility like SharpKeys or PowerToys.
Using PowerToys:
- Install PowerToys:
- Download and install Microsoft PowerToys from the official website.
- Open PowerToys Keyboard Manager:
- Open PowerToys and go to the Keyboard Manager section.
- Remap a Key:
- Click on "Remap a key".
- In the "Key" column, select the key you want to use as Insert.
- In the "Mapped To" column, select Insert.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Using SharpKeys:
- Install SharpKeys:
- Download and install SharpKeys from the official website.
- Remap a Key:
- Open SharpKeys and click on "Add".
- Press the key you want to remap to Insert in the "Map this key" section.
- Select Insert in the "To this key" section.
- Save the changes and reboot your computer.
By using one of these methods, you should be able to access the Insert function on your HP Envy X360 laptop without having a dedicated Insert key.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
