HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0008na
Microsoft Windows 11

Shortly after plugging un the power supply, as battery was dying, the laptop just died. I now get no LED indication at the power jack and laptop will not turn on. Power supply is giving 19.8V. I have opened case and disconnected the battery but no change. Power lead (Green label) from power jack socket to mother board reads 19.8V when unplugged from motherboard. When plugged into motherboard black and red pins give no voltage. Unplug power supply and now no voltage. Power cycle power supply and voltage restored (seems to be some safety device within power supply?) Can't imagine issue is with the jack socket and internal lead as voltage good when unplugged from motherboard. Issue is once it is plugged in. Don't know where to go from here?

Update. Tried suggested power reset again - holding power key for 15 sec but no good. Found some other sequences on virtual assistant. Couldn't find my particular model but tried holding power and mute together for 15 sec. Then attempted power up and laptop started. Receive some message re CMOS reset, then PC rebooted and all seems good. What a relief.
