My school recently gave me a probook x360 11 g5 ee and I wanted to upgrade to a 1tb ssd. The pre-installed ssd is a western digital pc sa530 sata ssd 256gb and I'm trying to replace it with a crucial p3 pcie Gen 3 1tb. When I install the crucial p3 it tells me that there is no storage installed and when I switch it back to the old wd it works. I've tried going through the windows 11 installer and the crucial p3 doesn't show up there either. I don't believe that it's a compatiblity issue because on crucial's website it says that it's compatible hardware. If anyone knows how to fix it or if I have the wrong dive please let me know. Thank you

It could be because the new SSD is either not initialized or that it has no driver letter assigned.
"crucial p3 pcie Gen 3 1tb" is somewhat short on specifications.
"western digital pc sa530 sata ssd 256gb" is also short on specifications.
When identifying a storage device, the format type of the drive and all other specific information (i.e. part number) must be provided.
We don't like to guess and you probably would not like us to guess either. 🤔

That does help. Thank you.
The OEM SSD is 256GB M.2 2280 SATA SA530 SS
The newly installed Crucial SSD is 1TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe M.2 -
It is not compatible with your laptop's processor and chipset. It will not work in your laptop.
All of the optional processors that could be present in your notebook are Gemini Lake refresh products that are only compatible with SATA SSD products. See your notebook's specifications in the web document provided below.

Thank you for your help, I'll try to see if I can refund the crucial p3 and change it for the correct drive. If you don't mind, could you just give me your advice on this drive if you think that it will work? (sorry that the Amazon listing is in French, I'm living in france)

Most languages are not a problem for me.
The specifications are good, but the only thing missing that I would ask the seller before purchasing it is whether it is single sided or not.
Most mainstream brands include that information.
Other than that, the specifications meet the requirements of your laptop's BIOS and Chipset.
