Hi @Vbhvk_90,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Check Hard Disk Connection:
- Power off your laptop and disconnect the AC adapter.
- Remove the back cover to access the hard drive.
- Ensure the hard drive is securely connected to the motherboard.
- Reconnect any loose cables and reseat the hard drive.
BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and press the designated key (usually F10, Esc, or F2) to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
- Navigate to the Storage or System Configuration section.
- Check if the hard drive is listed under Primary Hard Drive.
- If not detected, try resetting BIOS settings to default:
- Locate the Restore Defaults option usually found under the Exit menu.
- Save changes and exit the BIOS.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 or Esc immediately to enter the HP Hardware Diagnostics tool.
- Select System Diagnostics.
- Run a quick or extensive hard drive test.
- Follow any instructions provided if an error is detected.
Check Disk Management (Windows):
- If bootable, open Disk Management by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Disk Management.
- Look for unrecognized or unallocated space.
- Initialize or format the hard drive if detected but not assigned.
Use Command Prompt:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
- Type diskpart and press Enter.
- Type list disk and press Enter.
- Check if the disk is listed. If not recognized, it could be a hardware failure.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Power off your laptop and remove any external accessories.
- Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery (if applicable).
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the AC adapter and battery, then power on your laptop.
I hope this helps.
