HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop comes under this category (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06526774) and I'm not able to use my full RAM. Vega takes 2gb of my RAM and it is not even used that much. I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 on my laptop so there's no need for Vega GPU, but it still takes my ram and I'm not even able to play any games on my GAMING Laptop because of this RAM issues. Advance settings in BIOS are also locked. So I'm not able to change the allocation of memory there. Seems like a scam, HP is selling it as an 8gb ram laptop but in reality, it is only 5.9 GB. Is there no workaround for this issue?

Not being able to allocate the memory has been the case with notebooks as far back as I can remember. Advanced BIOS settings for notebook have been not accessible for a long time as well.

I suggest bumping the memory up to 16 GB and using the discrete graphics.

It isn't a scam.

Windows and graphics adapters in a notebook using Windows as an operating system have always taken a portion of the installed memory for overhead.

What specific games are you trying to play that have high memory requirements?

You can always upgrade the installed memory in your notebook.

Perhaps you should have considered 16 GB as on of the requirements when you were in the market for a gaming notebook.

Agreed that there are always such requirements for laptops but 2GB is just too much to be left out and also we don't have any option to reallocate the memory. Even games like Valorant, Rocket League don't work on my laptop, fps suddenly drops to 7 or 10, it stutters a lot to a point where it is just not playable and this condition is while charging.
Is there no way to reallocate the memory? Advance BIOS settings seem to be locked.

@HyperNova

That is a well known problem with machines with AMD processors. Please check the following article:.
