Hi @PAUL843,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Stream isn't charging and there's no LED light indicating that it's charging, here are some steps you can try.
Check the Power Adapter: Make sure the power adapter is properly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Sometimes the adapter or its cord can be faulty.
Inspect the Charging Port: Look at the charging port on your laptop for any debris or damage. Sometimes dust or damage can prevent proper connection.
Test the Power Adapter: If you have a multimeter, you can test the output of the power adapter to ensure it's working correctly. Alternatively, try using a different compatible power adapter if available.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning it on again.
Check for Battery Issues: If the battery is removable, try taking it out and then reinserting it. In some cases, a faulty battery might cause charging issues.
Inspect the AC Adapter and Battery Connections: If you have an HP Stream model where the battery is not easily removable, check if there's a way to reset the connections.
Try a Different Outlet: Ensure the power outlet you're using is functional by plugging in another device.
Check for Physical Damage: Look for any visible damage to the charging port, adapter, or cable.
Update BIOS/Drivers: If you can get the laptop to power on temporarily, check for BIOS updates or drivers related to power management.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
