Hi hope you guys can help.
I have a HP spectre x360 which was working fine until about 2 months ago where it's now stopped charging unless its turned off completely. If i leave the it plugged in the unit does not go off however as soon as i take the power out the battery starts to drain. Plugging power back in make no difference. Until switch it off.
I been through every fix I can think off on the laptop that I would do normally in case of my day job as an IT engineer with no luck.
Windows is stating that it plugged in despite being so. It also seems to be draining a little quicker than it should
I've see post on here about doing 15sec power reset to discharge the battery, which has made no difference. I have also seen post regarding drivers etc everything on the laptop is up-to-date and to be honest as nothing has changed for it to suddenly stop function as it should means should not be a driver issue or bios not least as they are both up-to-date.
Have seen one post on removing windows drivers and then the battery but as my is sealed unit that's not possible.
This is not the first issue ive had with my laptop, with screen touch screen going haywire before and having to be fixed. I've had dell laptops for years at work getting used 5 days a week 8h days without an issue.
To be honest the amount of money these devices cost i would expect a much more reliable device.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hi@Ade1974,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.Apologies for all the inconvenience. Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps
Let's try this:
Run hardware diagnostics test on battery and Charger:
Use the following steps to open the Component Tests menu.
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests.
- The Component Tests menu displays. Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
- To run both tests simultaneously, in the Component Tests menu, click Power Source, and then click Run once. Each component can also be tested individually.
AC Adapter Test:
The AC Adapter test provides an interactive test to determine if the AC power adapter is functioning properly. A good battery is required for this test. Before running the AC Adapter Test, HP recommends verifying that your computer can receive power by connecting a known working AC adapter.
Follow these steps to perform the AC Adapter Test.
- In the Component Tests menu, click Power, and then click an AC Adapter Test.
- Click Run once.
- The AC Adapter Test begins.
- When the test is complete, the results are displayed on the screen.
Battery Test:
Follow these steps to perform the Battery Test:
- In the Component Tests menu, click Power, and then click Battery.
- Click Run once. The Battery Test begins.
- When the battery test is complete, the results are displayed on the screen. For additional battery information, click Battery Details.
