Hello, someone could please help me with this problem?
I've installed a Samsung SSD 970 EVO, 500 GB, M.2, NVMe on my Hp Envy 15-k111nl in the m.2 port but it isn't detected neither from the BIOS, nor from Windows and I can't find a solution.
In the BIOS ther are no advanced option and the only thing I can change is the order of the boot driver but the SDD doesn't appear in the menu.
In Windows 10 also it isn't detected and I can't install drivers because of that.
Anyone has any Idea on what to do to make my system recognize the SDD?
Maybe I've to activate the port in some way, or maybe the ssd is not compatible with my system?
Thank in advance for the support.
Paolo

Welcome to HP Support Community
As per the Service Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04434142 you can use max 256 GB SSD Hard drive on this Notebook. This could be the reason the 500 GB SSD is not getting recognized
Hope this helps 😊

Hello,
thanks for the answer, reading the part of the manual you provide me I think the the reason of the unrecognized ssd it's probably that the ssd i bought is nvme, and the m.2 port on my laptop only support sata.
Now I'll try with a m.2 sata ssd and i'll let you know if it works, I think that if it reads a 250 Gb ssd also coud read a 500 Gb I don't think it could be the capacity that could influence the compatibility.
Thanks
Paolo
